2022 PANAAWTM Virtual Conference: Cross-Racial Solidarity and Radical Praxis
Cross-Racial Solidarity and Radical Praxis
( March 17–19, 2022)
We need an inclusive, creative, audacious, and radical theology for life, peace, and justice more now than ever before. Consider persistent gender-based violence, the racialized effects of COVID-19, the feminization of global poverty, the gendered impact of climate change, political denials of women’s reproductive justice, the resurgence of religious fundamentalism and autocracies across the globe just to name a few of the issues at hand. Despite the long history of political and economic violence, women of color across the globe have consistently resisted these forces through building coalitions and solidarity for peace and justice beyond our racial, ethnic, and religious differences. The 36th Annual Conference of PANAAWTM honors Pacific Asian North American Asian Women's theological imagination and activism in solidarity with Black, Indigenous, and other women of color, solidarities long practiced in our communities. Looking backward and forward at the embodied practice of Asian and Asian American women's cross-racial solidarity, we reclaim our lives and work through radical praxis.
