Dr. Chinn has over 20 years of experience in pastoral ministry at ethnic and multiethnic churches. He still attends the church from which he accepted a pastorate when he graduated from Multnomah. He is passionate about how the Gospel is revealed through diversity whether it is through such things as race, class, socioeconomics, age, or even politics. In Dr. Chinn’s opinion, one of the extraordinary things about diversity is that it has much to tell us about Christ, but we often ignore the voices and realities of others to our own detriment. He believes that Portland is a dynamic laboratory for the Christian life, and our proximity to downtown Portland and the various neighborhoods of our city enhance the classroom learning experience.

In his free time, Dr. Chinn enjoys reading, playing soccer, following Oregon football, and the outdoors with his family and close friends, specifically hiking or backpacking.
