Young Ahn Kang began his studies at Korea Theological College and Seminary where he became interested in the thought of Abraham Kuyper and Herman Bavinck. This led him to begin to study Dutch language. He got a B.A. in Dutch and Philosophy, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (Seoul, Korea), Bachelor and Master in Philosophy, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Louvain, Belgium) and Ph.D, in philosophy, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (The Netherlands). For 32 years he taught philosophy at several colleges and universities: University of Leiden (The Netherlands), Keimyung University (Daegu, Korea), Calvin College (Grand Rapids, MI), and Sogang University. Since 2015, he is professor emeritus of Sogang University. He served as the President of Korean Philosophical Association, the President of Korean Kant Society, the co-chair of Korean Christian Ethics Movement, the Chair of Korean Association of Christian Scholarship, and most recently he served as President of the Kosin University and Korea Theological Seminary Board of Trustees and the Director of the National Humanities Committee in Korea.Research and Teaching Interests.
